Greetings Friends!
We ( Nansi and David ) have combined our newsletters into this, the first edition of "Art of the Dive". We have so much exciting news to share, updates on our lives together, and of course new work to show.
The gallery owner/director of Forest & Ocean Gallery in Laguna Beach, CA. , Ludo Leideritz is a gifted photographer, and has been working with us on doing something neither of us has ever done before... we are proud to offer our first ever Giclee series to the public. For this open edition, high quality print we have selected "Life- Schooling Pacific Mackerels" (pictured below).
Another exciting development, Nansi has been selected to be a Signature Artist with Artists for Conservation. AFC is an international group of artists, banded together to use their talents to raise money for, and awareness of ecological concerns. David has been a signature member since 2010, and now our first-ever collaborative underwater painting "Jubilation" has been juried into their ninth annual exhibition in Vancouver, Canada (September 26 - October 5, 2016). Artists for Conservation's annual exhibit is the world's top conservation-themed art show and has become one of the most highly anticipated annual events among the nature-inspired art genres. Some of you will recall, the two of us had the privilege to join world famous artist and conservationist Dr. Guy Harvey on his boat for a day of snorkeling with stingrays at Grand Cayman Island in 2014 as part of the AFC's Marine Explorer's Program. The small group of artists banded together in the Marine Explorer's Program compose nearly all of the world's quality undersea painters and sculptors, and we are truly proud to be a part of this exceptional organization.

"Life" ~ Schooling Pacific Mackerel, 36" x 36"
We both have so many friends in the CAC, and our time there has been a wonderful part of our development as artists. We hope to see you all frequently, but we have decided to leave the security of the familiar and seek out new circles of thought and inspiration in our work, as we embrace styles and concepts which seem to conflict with the traditional art of this club. While some of our work might still seem to fit the scope of CAC's vision, it is our newer, more innovative work which thrills us, and that is where we have chosen to focus our energy.
On that note, our painting "Pacific Octopus" is currently on display at the Wildling Museum in Solvang, CA as part of the current exhibition of art inspired by our National Parks. Our favorite National Park, the Channel Islands Marine Sanctuary, was the source of our inspiration for this painting.
Yours in Art,
Nansi & David
